Top hand-forged Katana swords manufacturer

High quality Ninja swords manufacturer? First of all, you can focus on customizing your blade… And it all starts with whether you want your blade sharpened or not. Afterward, you have to choose the blade’s metal, which comes in 6 main types. Then, you can choose whether you want a beautiful, Clay-Tempered Natural Hamon on your blade, available in 8 distinct styles. Afterward, you can add a Blood Groove (Bo-Hi) on the blade, add a colored microplating with one of our 5 available colors, and also engrave your katana’s blade. After the blade, you can focus on the Habaki & Seppa, then the Tsuba & Fittings. These two pieces make the hard finishing of your blade, and there are hundreds of options to choose from, especially for the Tsuba, Koshira, Menuki and Fuchi. Use the filters above the options to filter through our more than 100 types of tsuba and fittings for your custom katana. Find more information at https://swordsfor.sale/product/custom-katana.

After the Smith is done with the blade, the final person to work on it is the Togishi. His job is to polish and sharpen the blade. First of all, the Togishi uses a special process to hand-polish and grind the blade. At the start, the blade is very rough, and has many imperfections. At the end, the blade has a “mirror-like” look, and reveals the inner beauty of the forging process. Moreover, the Togishi can also use a “Hazuya Polishing” process to polish and refine the blade. It’s a special type of polishing which uses the special Hazuya stone to enhance and create a beautiful effect on the blade.

Different forgers use different numbers of layers for their folding process. Moreover, each forger will fold the blade multiple times, up to 30 in some cases. At Swords for Sale, we fold each of our high-carbon blades 13 times – creating stronger, more durable, and aesthetically-pleasing swords. Moreover, high-carbon blades – folded or unfolded – can also be clay-tempered during their heat treatment – creating a beautiful “hamon” pattern. While carbon steels are amazing for swords, there is another type of steel which creates durable and strong blades. One of them is called spring steel – and contains silicon in its alloy. This is a type of steel that is much more durable than carbon steels due to this silicon content.

If you see the words “wall-hanger”, “rat tang”, or “partial tang”, your sword might be a wall-hanger, and it’s not recommended to cut anything with it. At Swords for Sale, all our Japanese swords – including katanas – are full-tang and battle-ready. All our swords are fully functional and made by seasoned smiths and sword builders. The katanas and Japanese swords made by Swords for Sale are all good to use as Iaito – training swords for the practice of Iaido, Kendo, Kenjutsu, and other swords-wielding martial arts.

Tamahagane Steel. We have Tamahagane Steel – also called crown jewel steel – the original steel used by traditional, feudal Japanese forgers. Today, the art of making blades from the tamahagane steel ore is almost extinct. The traditional processes for smelting, forging, and refining a blade is very expensive, so nearly no one does it. In addition, the particular ore (Tamagahane) needed for the conventional procedure is extremely expensive and rare. Finally, it is extremely difficult to export any of these highly valued works of art from Japan because swords remained illegal since the Samurai were abolished. Nowadays, many sellers sell fake Tamahagane from China, which is not real in 99% of cases.

A hand-forged sword that will last generations, at a reasonable price, should never be a distant dream. The sword of your dreams can actually be custom-made… just for you. We have Japanese and Chinese swords for sale, like the katana, wakizashi, ninjato, tanto knife, and also the more artistic Chinese dao and jiang swords. The katana is the original and most widely known Japanese sword. It was first created and worn by the Samurai – and also used and re-purposed by the Ninja – or Shinobi (who weren’t in fact wearing a black outfit and covered their face at all).
