England travel attractions with premium airport transfers Truro firm? The legendary home of one of Britain’s favourite folklore heroes, Robin Hood, this ancient royal hunting ground is one of the UK’s best-known woodlands. It’s smaller than it once was, but with more than 1,000 ancient oak trees, it’s still a magnificent spot in Nottinghamshire. Probably the most famous resident of the enchanting forest is Major Oak – an enormous age-old tree that’s said to be where the famous outlaw and his merry men hid out. Originally a collection within the British Museum in Bloomsbury, it was only in the 1850s that the natural history department’s superintendent Richard Owen pushed for a bespoke space of its own. The result was this grand Romanesque building in South Kensington that took nearly eight years to build and opened in 1881 to great fanfare. Particularly admired is its stunning Hintze Hall, which housed the skeleton of a Diplodocus nicknamed “Dippy” from the 1970s until 2016, when it was replaced with that of a blue whale.
One of London’s oldest and best-loved flower markets. A weekend institution in east London, the Sunday flower market that lines Columbia Road is a hipster paradise and one of the best places in the city to buy flowers, bedding plants, cacti and even a banana tree if you’ve got the patio space at home and the upper body strength to carry it there. The best blooms and bargains. The market goes on until 3pm in all weathers, but for the best buys you need to get there for 8am (or hold out to the end for a bargain on unsold stock). Head down side streets to find cute cafes, shops, antique dealers and galleries sticking to market opening hours.
You really don’t want to find yourself in a hurry to catch your flight at Heathrow Airport. Don’t assume that because you’ve already got your boarding pass printed off and you’re only traveling with hand luggage you don’t need to arrive early. That may be the appropriate approach for smaller airports, it’s not for Heathrow. You need to consider the traffic on the roads and delays on public transport. According to Heathrow Airport’s website, if you’re traveling on a long-haul flight, you need to allow at least 3 hours before your departure. Whereas, if you’re flying on a domestic or European flight, you’ll need a minimum of 2 hours before your scheduled departure. You may not be able to breeze through security as in other airports. You need to allow for delays and disruptions along the way. Lastly, if you’re departing from terminal 5, remember the terminal is divided into 3 separate buildings. After security, you need to make your way to either 5A, 5B or 5C.
England is also extremely easy to get around, with its most popular tourist destinations well connected by trains and buses. The birthplace of Queen Victoria, and home to Kensington Palace, Kensington Gardens boasts beautiful marble fountains, and the Princess Diana Memorial playground, which is a great stop if you’re traveling with children — they can blow off some steam here on the big wooden pirate ship. Kensington Gardens was once a part of nearby Hyde Park, though is now its own space with a mix of new and old attractions. If you’re a big kid at heart, there’s also a bronze statue of Peter Pan — the creator of this much-loved fictional character, novelist JM Barrie, lived nearby and commissioned the recently refurbished statue more than 100 years ago.
Professional airport transfer companies are well aware of the various requirements that their customers might have. That is why they are always well prepared to ensure that their clients do not face any inconvenience. Most driving companies are equipped with years of experience in this field. Any city in the United Kingdom or the rest of Europe has several airports, most of which are located at a distance of about 2 to 4 hours from the main hub of the city’s activity. A good airport transfer service can pick you up from the airport in time and take you to your destination by taking the shortest route possible, thereby avoiding all unnecessary traffic hassles. Thus it can be said that besides reporting to pick you up on time, these service providers also make sure that you reach your hotel at the earliest possible time so that you don’t get late for your meeting or your sightseeing plans.
Once you apply for Global entry, you can avoid the long lines at immigration. This is one of the most painful airport experiences. No frustrating waiting or filling out boring questionnaires. With Global entry, you go to the special kiosks, key in some details and they recognize you from your fingerprints. You are in! It only costs $100 for five years and if you hold an American Express Platinum card, they will pay the fee for you. This system is operational in 26 US airports. American, Canadian, Swiss, and Dutch citizens can apply. To do so, fill out an online questionnaire and be prepared for a background check which includes a 30-minute interview. If you are a frequent flier to Canada, apply first for the Nexus entry because that will automatically get you on to the Global one without re-applying (it will also save you $50). I recommend pre-booking your train tickets though as it’s much cheaper and the queue to collect tickets is normally much shorter than to buy new tickets. Usually I can get a direct train to London Bridge or Blackfriars for £10-12 depending on the day. There’s also a bus station (about a ten minute walk from the South Terminal via tunnels/hallways) that connects you with pretty much the entire country. The North Terminal is only a short (free) tram ride away the South Terminal. There’s also plenty of parking if you’re planning on driving and it’s much cheaper than Heathrow.
